I don't see a problem with our group here. It's completely legit and ethical. I don't see it as promotion for more visitors, but rather a forum/newsletter. I don't think StumbleUpon should mind that much. I enter/host carnivals for promotion, and to give my visitors a heads up on blogs that might interest them. Both work as good sources of promotion, but my intentions are only to share thoughts and philosophies, and to meet new people.
I have something in common with everyone in this group. I always look forward to seeing what new articles and ideas you have. This is just a spot where we come together and read each other's articles.
As for stumbling. I don't care if anyone gives me a thumbs up, I just post my new articles here for those who enjoy my blog. It's an update that says "hey fans, I'm still working on my site and here's what's new".
I give a thumbs up once in a while to you guys, but if I don't then that does not mean I don't like the article. So far, I haven't found many that I didn't enjoy.
