It's a mindset rather than a rule or law. People fear doing very little as unworthy. Society teaches us to work hard, have less time and fill our lives with shiney stuff that we never use. Until we change our mindset about what level of work we want to do, then we'll always be slaves.
People always look to their skill set to decide what work to do and that usually means working hard, because skill sets are usually about manual labor. Manual labor is fine if you can create and levearge that creation, like writing a book or creating something once and sellig it multiple times.
I wonder if the authors of the books got rich doing something or writing about doing something.
