GeekLog gets my vote. It's fast, secure, and bleeding-edge. OpenID support in the next release. Incredibly Google-friendly. Highly extensible, very flexible, and can be used to create just about any type of website.

Joomla - it's a nice system, but working with it makes me want to swear. It's patronising and inefficient, as well as horribly insecure out of the box. Having said that, if you've got a lot of time to spare, you can make a pretty decent website from it.
