I agree, it is great story and really puts into perspective how tiny our everyday problems really are.
And Phil, with regards to never being as great a man as Rick's dad... I ask why not?
Dick is nothing special, just a father with so much passion and love for his son's life (and his own) that he is willing to do anything it takes to give Rick the fullest life possible.
I see this as motivation that I have about 1/tenth of the struggles these pair have... so what's really stopping me from achieving something just as great... if not greater?
