You may have seen the
Personal Development List which Priscilla started (it's been mentioned in a few threads here).
This got me thinking about a Digg-like service which would expand on the function performed by the List. Priscilla herself said that it takes a fair amount of effort to maintain the list and would be happy for someone to make it easier.
But I thought that surely there's something out there already. Yet none of the comments on Priscilla's page mention anything, and I've never come across one. Sure there are social bookmarking sites which have a Personal Development category, but those tend to be for specific pages rather than sites as a whole.
So my first question is, does anyone know of such a site?
If not, I'd appreciate some feedback on this idea...
The List could be turned into a site where people could submit their own site, or a site they like, and of course the current list of sites would be included.
The site would provide the following functionality (at a minimum), allowing each site to be:
- reviewed by others
- rated (using a 5-star rating system for example)
- tagged
This would allow us to:
- find sites which deal with a particular sub-interest area
- find the most popular sites (which of course isn't difficult at the moment)
- easily let others know about other sites
There'll probably be a lot more to it, but of course if it's already been done I'm not going to re-invent the wheel!
