So *IF* this is a multi-person universe then the stuff that I am responsible for can ONLY be stuff that (1) I am aware of, (2) I am able to do something about - (mentally, physically, etc.)
However, in my theory that there is only me, there really *IS* no Jack in Africa if I am not aware of him. He simply DOES NOT EXIST. |
I don't know, to me that still sounds like solipsism, and looking at the "you" as a particular ego/mind/body.
Perhaps you can consider the theory that awareness doesn't mean intellectual/mental awareness, but a greater form of awareness that as egos we currently cannot access -- the awareness of the Self, which is actually the same as the awareness of existence. From that level of awareness, you are aware of All That Is, God, Source, the Universe. That is the Awareness/Consciousness that is aware of everything, that allows everything (including you) to exist. It isn't the mental awareness of your particular ego/mind (which is unaware of many many many things), but the awareness of your Self which is All That Is.
So if you mesh the two theories together, yes -- nothing exists outside of your awareness, but your actual (Self) awareness includes All That Is, so it still comes out the same. We all share in that awareness (i.e. God experiencing it's own God-ness through an infinite number of viewpoints), but it is hidden underneath the normal ego-mind's awareness.
