In the Silva Method, there is a tool called "subjective communication" which works along these lines. Of course, the Silva Method is not evil or anything like that -
in fact, it is a standard part of the course that all students are hypnotised (as part of a group hypnosis session) to accept that they will only use their powers for positive, beneficial purposes etc etc and that their powers will fail, if they try to use them to harm another person).
"Subjective communication" is an extremely flexible tool and once you've played around with it, you'll kinda sense how you can use it for many different purposes.
You can use it to "communicate" with another real, living person ... or as a tool for deeper prayer (communicating with your God) .... or contacting your spirit guides / angels, if you're into that sort of thing ..... or to contact your "counsellors" (as per Jose Silva or Napoleon Hill or even Tony Buzan) ... or to contact the dead (as part of grief therapy) ..... or you can use it as an extension of an LOA tool ..... or you can use it to explore your own thoughts and emotions (by communicating with a part of your own self) ....
