I'm new to this forum too so I'm learning too. I think you're already on the right track to improving your life. You've already joined a personal development forum, looked for a solution to the immediate problem (Avon money), and asked for guidance when you needed some.
I'm a school counselor and former librarian, so if my lingo seems a bit "counselorish", that's why. When working with my students (and myself too), I always encourage them to examine the things that are already working for them or that they already do well in order to find solutions to what's bothering them now. Keep focusing on your success and I know you'll break through.
