I haven't tried Speedsleep, but I've heard very good things about Pzizz (pzizz.com). As for reducing your overall sleep time, I've cut down from 7.5 to 6 hours simply by switching to biphasic sleeping (in my case I began with a 90 minute nap and 4.5 hours' core sleep).

It's great, but it does require a 90 minute (although this gradually comes down to 75 or so) break in your schedule. Are you able to take a break this long, or perhaps a couple of shorter ones?
