Erin, I enjoyed your post, especially how they don't just come by to "chew the fat," that is is difficult to get there. I could see a deceased loved one saying something like, "I had to take three subways and a bus to get here. So you'd better listen now or I'm going back."
I still haven't had an experience like this, but those closest to me have not died yet. The ones who I really spent a lot of time with are still living. I guess it can be something to look forward to.
