Default My grampie in a dream

I had a recent experience like this, only my grandfather isn't deceased, though he's on his way out.

I had a dream and it was very sad. It was me and my good friend and cousin Sarah, and we were in a room with our grandfather, and we were all crying. Not bawling, but just very, very sad. There was nothing strange about the dream, and it was very vivid, leading me to believe that this was communication from him, and I thought maybe he was dying.

The next day, my mother tells me that they're moving him to a nursing home, which they've been trying to do for a while, but he was dead set against it. My grandmother just can't take care of him by herself, as she's in her 80's and he's 98.

I wrote him a letter soon after. It almost sort of makes me wish for him to go, just so he can find peace. His mind is ALL there; just not his body, and it frustrates him. I actually can't imagine him lasting long once he's out of his home.

What can I do with this? Is it possible for him to contact me even though he's still alive? It was all so sad; like we were all saying goodbye.
