If your goal is passive income, which mine is, you just have to focus your energy on marketing methods that don't take a lot of maintenance once it's set up. Also, it's best to focus on industries with long term stable niches.
There are some industries that are in a constant state of flux, and I avoid those because they will require constant attention.
One particular campaign I have not touched in almost 2 months and it is generating some decent income every day. I don't really see that changing any time soon. I know some marketers who have campaigns they have been running for 2 or 3 years and only spend a very small amount of time maintaining them.
....it all just depends how you choose to structure it.
