Well, to be entirely honest, this is more about personal development than it is about professional skill. I've spoken to several lawyers, and with the exception of one who told me to become a Chippendale's dancer instead, the advice was the same: Get into a fairly good law school, use internships to find a firm that you like and eventually go with that one.
