.
Though I joined this forum in May 2009 and haven't posted a whole lot, I've been lurking here since near the forum's beginning, coming almost every week or so since around the end of 2006 (and so has my wife, by the way).
Some recent posts from certain "old-timers" have lamented or groaned about a forum "decline", but I didn't much notice anything major.
I would say it is my deeply internalized *LoA* (& my "intuitive-guidance") which seemed to always "direct me" to just the perfect thread(s) or posts to make each of my visits here consistently worthwhile and enriching.
By coming to the forum (each time I'd visit) with the *knowing* (or 'intention') that I would find good, relevant, inspiring or "resonant" threads or posts, I practically always did find them. So this forum has, for the most part, been a good, fulfilling experience for me.
I would like to thank everyone here for all their energy and contributions and express my appreciation for the enriching adventure and journey I've enjoyed with all of you. And, to you Steve, putting aside my thoughts on some of your recent decisions and actions, thank you very much for having created this wonderful forum that so many of us have gotten so much out of.
Now some suggestions:
It would be great if you could keep the Forum open longer than planned, giving some of us more time for making connections, for "completions" and for sharing ideas or suggestions on where else to go, or possible ways to continue this type of adventure we've shared.
I just found out about the forum closing! Secondly, as you hinted, DO definitely keep the forum publicly available as searchable archives after you close the forum. There is such a wealth of information, insights and resources here!
I didn't always have a lot of time when I would come visit the Forums, and there are some great threads that I've been wanting to come back to that I bookmarked or jotted their titles… threads or posts I've wanted to study more in-depth, etc… and topics I've wanted to search in the forums to see what people have said about it.. and also certain forum posters (people) that I've been wanting to look up, to read more of what they have posted and said.
AND (someone else already said something about this), inform us what you plan to do, because (if you're taking everything down), some of us may want to copy and preserve some of our own writings (in our posts) that we put so much energy and thought into (and other stuff in the forum too)… and with the holidays and everything, there's not much time (at least for me) to search for what to preserve, copy, etc.
One outstanding thing about this Forum that I noticed is that so many people put so much thought and energy and *good writing* into many of their posts!
So I hope you will indeed leave the forum posts in a searchable archive.
Thanks again for everything!
