I'm sorry to hear about what your husband has been doing to you Jenny. He sounds like a prick that could use a few good punches in the head and I hope you contacted your local police and reported him. I think blokes that lay their hands on a woman are scumbags and my wife was physically abused and raped when she was younger. She did self defence classes though and wrestling training though so if another bloke tried she could defend herself. I think you should look into doing something like that if your husband keeps going because as you said, you can't rely on your friend forever.

We are currently living in a world full of very disturbed individuals and there are blokes that do what your husband did to you just for fun. I have come across a few of these cases and I still have a red mark underneath my left eye for standing up to a bloke that was getting drunk and abusing his wife after he punched me while I was wearing sunglasses. I worked with the woman for a few weeks and she would come in with red marks on her like you described and when I asked her where she was getting them from she said it was her husband and she wanted to get away from him so I helped her out.

It wasn't the first time I had done something like this and it definitely wasn't the last. It might sound stupid but when I was a kid I wanted to be a super hero so I could save people and when I got older I realised I couldn’t do that but what I could do was help people. I took on blokes twice my side that were picking on women and blokes and sometimes I got beat up badly for doing it but I didn’t care because I was doing the right thing and I made a lot of great friends doing it. I did the same thing to guys that were bullying kids when I was at school and my first girlfriend encouraged me to do it.

The problem is there are not a lot of people that have the courage to do this anymore and now more than ever is the time where women need to learn to protect themselves because there are hundreds of blokes that like to prey on the weak. My wife told me one time the worst thing a woman can do is become dependent on a male for protection because she needs to fight her own battles. Hailey has been training our daughter in self defence just in case something ever happens to her and we are not there to protect her she will be able to defend herself.
