"Discernment"...think "scrutiny". To really ponder the aspects of a thing, to look for little hidden things that may be sneaky, and procede without detection if you
don't scrutinise.
To simply gloss over by scanning and to simply read a "sound byte" allows many unwanted elements into the psyche. "Discernment" is the process of checking everything out to make sure it's clean and legitimate.
I'm not certain, but I think its root word is "discretion".
Feel free to "pick" as much as you want.
