My advice is to steer clear of topics such as religion and politics with these types of relatives. It is highly unlikely you will change their world view, and all that will happen is you will be at a loss as to how someone can think in such a way (and then you will have to start a thread on an internet forum to work it out.....
). Find a less controversial topic to discuss... even if it is shallow (the latest celebrity rehab story) or mundane (the weather).
