It is the "feeling" or "state of mind" you have when you broadcast your intention that causes things to be manifested. As for experience with manifesting I vaguely remembering manifesting "small things" just from having that state of mind when I broadcast my intention. Sometime this month, my dad bought some delicious food. I was thinking about how I'd like to have it again (i.e. unconsciously intending). Then on Monday he bought it. He doesn't usually buy food for me on Monday, and I didn't tell him it was delicious. So it is possible that it happened because of LoA.
With small things you usually only need the intention. Almost no action is needed.
For me, the "Expecting" method that Acting highlighted works best. The "Gratitude" method doesn't work for me unless the thing I desire really has been manifested. The critical part of me will reject that it has already come unless it sees evidence.
