It sounds to me like the best place for you is in the medical field. Somewhere you can put your values to good use and not be questioned. Have you thought about this?
I'm the same way you are but when you have a kid you put yourself and your feelings aside and do whatever you have to do to care for your kid. Even if that means turning tricks on the corner(JOKE!)
