Slick, I had the same realization months ago about fear. Approaching fear is basically embracing fear and in turn it leads to a positive manifestation.
The idea is too not react to the fear, or judge it as something negative. Thats when the fear goes against you.
When something unwanted occurs, I think it is essential to just allow yourself to feel relief and soothe yourself away from it ever occuring again.
So the idea is to take action, and allow and embrace every circumstance good or bad with out judging it. While staying in a neutral to very positive state of focus.
