I've found two things that make a difference, especially with SAD (seasonal affective disorder, aka depression through autumn, winter and a chunk of spring - ugh). One: an anti-SAD lamp. Two: brainwave entrainment. I didn't have any expectations of this, but the effects are impressive. Also, it's easy and doesn't require self-discipline to keep it going, which is important! I'm using NeuroProgrammer2 from Transparent Corporation . They have a 30 day free trial, which is long enough to find out whether this works for you.
