Secondhand smoke is only harmful if it's a case where you are chronically around someone who smokes indoors. |
This wasn't actually meant to be my first post on this forum, but I beg to differ. I always hate it when going to clubs and getting constantly teary eyed for the whole night because of the cigarette smoke so thick that you could cut it with a knife.
And as for the original poster, I hope he's joking. I've smoked from 18 to 23, and then I quit due to being unemployed after college and thus having no money. I've been told by a girl that it's visible by my appearance that I don't smoke. I've also noticed that I hardly ever get colds since quitting smoking, and when they do appear, they go away much faster.
The only positive thing about smoking would be the networking part, like someone said before me, although I can't help but feel sorry for those who need to go freeze their bones outside in the winter to get a smoke. And you could probably hang around with those guys without smoking like they do.
I remember a talk I had with a cab driver once about smoking. As we talked, he realized he had wasted about 25000 dollars over 18 years on cigarettes.
