Ubermensch Day #35: Fat College Chick

Exercise like a War God: Didn’t sleep all night, marched to the gym at 7:30 AM. There is no fat woman to be seen in the today (Friday morning). Today I did the exact prescribed 5/3/1 routine, no more, no less. It’s a very boring routine. FML. Screw you Wendell, I’m throwing in isolation exercises! Did some bench press, incline bench press, then went home and passed out for 8 hours.

Today is the official day I’m switching over to 5/3/1 routine, I will stick to this until Dec. 31 2012, then I’ll revaluate if I want to do another routine. I’m using Strength Standards which calculates my max rep, and then gives me the weight I should be lifting.

My goal for the end of the year of 2012 is to:

Squat 3 plates (3 plates is 315 pounds total. My max 1 rep for squat is 275 lbs, a 40 pounds difference)

Dead lift 3 plates (3 plates is 315 pounds total. My max 1 rep for dead lift is 275 lbs, a 40 pounds difference)

Bench 2 plates (2 plates is 215 pounds total. My max 1 rep for bench is 165 pounds, a 50 pounds difference)

Overhead press 1 plate (1 plate is 135 pounds total. My max 1 rep for OHP is 105 pounds, a 35 pounds difference)

"Nice, thick, solid. Keep working on your form and inform us of your progress." <-- internet fitness meme lulz

Read a fascinating book:
Read 25 pages of Aaron Wall SEO Book. (125/200 pages). He talks about ranking high on Google, Yahoo and (now the disfunct) AskJeeves.com. Web site linking for google is primarily through link popularity and archored links, even ought that may changed since Google “panda” update. How to rank in the Google?! Back links.

Learn a foreign language: 1 hour of learning Hangul. Without the romanization, I’m learning how to read the character + pronounication. This method is much more effective, since I’m learnining about 20 characters per an hour.

I downloaded this program called Anki (Anki - friendly, intelligent flashcards – thanks Brutha!) that is a flash card to learn Korean.

I’m using en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mnemonic#In_foreign-language_acquisition to memorize the Korean alphabet easier.

For example:

ㅋㅏ – Kah – the ㅋ looks like a toilet bowl, I think “kah kah poop!”
ㅌㅏ – tah – the ㅌ looks like two arms and a sex organ. I think the character as a person going “tah [da] here’s my wee wee!”
ㅍㅏ – pah – pah sounds like”grand pa”, I assiocate the character with an old man
ㅎㅏ – ha – the character looks like a head wearing a hat. So I imagine the person to be laughing “ha ha ha”
ㅇㅑ – Yah – It looks like a head on a skate board, I imagine the person to be rolling down the street going “YAH!!!”

Strangely enough this makes it super easy to remember the alphabets.

Word of the day:

abominable [uh-bom-uh-nuh-buhl] – adjective – repugnantly hateful; detestable; loathsome: an abominable crime
abhorrent / ab hawr uhnt / – adjective – causing repugnance; detestable; loathsome: an abhorrent deed.

Building an online business (Yeah!): Wrote 450-ish word article, embed some youtube videos. It took 30 minutes. Progress: 15/50 pages. I have to learn how to build backlinks to my website so it rank high on Google, right now the website is only getting an average of 8 visitors per day, with 2 new subscribers to the e-newsletter per day. My goal is 15k visitors per month, that would be great. More visitors, more money.

Watch something inspiration: Finished watching Honey and Clover (25/25 episodes) . Takemoto, the 22 years old college graduate finish his soul searching bike ride, where he has his own epiphanies. After he went through his soul searching adventure, he manned up and came back to the girl’s house, and held her hand. Told her “I love you”. He is no longer the beta male he was once.

Listen to self improvement audio (15 minutes) while doing yoga stretches: Jeff Oslon, “Slight Edge”. Key points: to make dreams come true, be specific about the goal, set a deadline, and pay the price (AKA “work for it”). Focus and make adjustment on goals everyday. Zen Kai principle – plan, do, review, adjust, repeat ad infinitum. Build your dream through daily action, or neglect your dream.

Meditate like a monk: Meditated for 5 minutes, paying attention to the breath. The goal of zazen isn’t necessary to stop the thoughts, but our attachment to them. I want to gradually meditate up to 30 minutes – but first, forming this daily habit …

Daily Conclusion – what Ubermensch thinks:

Whenever I see a fat college chick on campus, I know she made a slight error in judgement. The error of snacking on donuts and candies. Gaining a mere 2 pounds per month adds up to 24 pounds per year, or 11 kgs. In 2 years time, she’ll gain 48 pounds of fat and more fat, around her ankles, stomach, and neck.

When she ask her friends, “So …. do I look fat?”, her friends will reply in unison: “No, of course not. You look great.” with surpressed grins.

If she were to ask me, I would give her a honest answer with some theatrical gestures for added impact: I would reel back in horror, hands on my cheek, and scream at the top of my lungs: “OH GOD, PLEASE DON’T EAT ME. EAT THE KIDS”.
