I am also the the type of person who tends to generalize and spread myself thin. (But I enjoy absorbing new things and then moving on.) You might be interested in the book, "Glimmer" by Warren Berger, as it speaks to this phenomena, and identifies it as a good thing. (We're just slow starters)

Remember, your 'purpose' is a moving target. Don't obsess over the perfect outlet, keeping experimenting and do what resonates with you most. Eventually you will create your own unique combination of talents, passions and skills. But, that can take many years. Enjoy!
