You are stuck in an objective frame of mind.
Results don't determine whether someone is one or the other but intentions.
The chinese have a word
shi to describe the energy that is inherent to polarity. It's difficult to understand for westerns because as Alan Watts said: "The negative has pretty bad connatations these days".
