Default My Purpose

I am passionate about technology, and the use of technology to enable people, from connecting with loved ones to regaining lost abilities (sight, etc.).
In my experience, most technology is unnecessarily difficult. For example, my mother needs 'tech support' constantly, and for very simple things that I've shown her how to do numerous times. I don't mean to imply that she's stupid, however. It's a case of 'How do I do that again? Where was that option in this program?', and I've had plenty of experience with it, myself. Digital cameras with mystery buttons, Linux distros with with config files in strange formats and in strange places, etc.
One of the ideas I'm tossing around for my blog is to write about technology and usability, with an occasional review of a product (hardware or software) that is really groundbreaking in its power and simplicity.
