Yep, it's the celebration for the 15th birthday. Some families have it later in order to save money for it, it can get pretty pricey. It is a huge deal for several Latin American cultures, but not all of them. The ritual itself varies by country, too.

first of all... Thank you for your kind reply......And thanks for your great explanation.......About my ex....Yes she actually loved ( maybe still does) to dance salsa and was great at that... If I just hummed some music with my voice she'd start to move her body rhythmically at that simple voice sound immediately...smile....
And Cuba is a fantastic place.... I was happy there.... Spènt ( in different times) like 7-8 months there... That was more than 10 years ago....Maybe I'll go back one day....
But things change and now I have other places in my mind... Brazil, currently....
Are you American? I'm Italian ( living here in Italy but I do love travelling whenever possible..Italy can get pretty boring , at least my hometown....)
