Even old media outlets that have major web sites aren’t quite the same as the new beasts of dedicated online publishing.
Let me share some actual […]

As a blogger and a former software developer, I must frequently deal with copyright issues. For most of my adult life, intellectual property has been my primary source of livelihood and remains so to this day. While some people take issue with the concept of intellectual property and believe that all content should be free, I don’t count […]

Since I receive many questions about this topic, I thought it would be fun to share a candid insider’s look at the reality of being an A-list blogger. Some people suggest it isn’t practical for too many of us to become purpose-centered. Imagine what would happen if everyone on earth awakened to a noble purpose. Recently I read Darren Rowse’s enlightening post about bloggers-for-hire being paid on a per-post basis. Darren says the going rate being offered is around $2 to $20 per post… sometimes as high as $100 per post. That’s a flat one-time fee with no residuals. If such bloggers stop writing, they stop earning. And apparently there’s no shortage of bloggers willing to […]

Something I’ve rarely seen mentioned in personal development books is intelligent advice on how to develop and maintain strong technical skills. At best you’ll see email, PDAs, and a few other basic tools mentioned, but that’s about it. Even children can use email though.
Solid technical skills are becoming increasingly important, and I don’t see that […]

Last week I was interviewed by Maria Ngo and Ray DuGray (aka The Entrepreneur Doctors) on the subject of blogging, including how to build a high-traffic blog and how to generate substantial income from blogging.
Here are the questions answered in the interview:
What exactly is a blog, and why should anyone care about blogs?
