[...] According to Steve Pavlina and his very popular blog, part of becoming wealthy is in your mindset. And he takes this quite literally — walking around with $400 in your wallet or purse will make you feel like you have plenty of money. If you feel like you have plenty of money, you probably won’t be making a big deal out of things that don’t really matter much anyway — like not ordering the most expensive thing on the menu at lunch to save a whopping $2. That $2 won’t matter much whether you’re rich or poor, so you might as well just order what you really wanted to eat. [...]

[...] Only use cash With the proliferation of debit and credit cards it’s easy to loose track of what you are actually spending, so always use cash. Carrying cash also adds to your sense of being wealthy (at least according to Steve Pavlina) I realized that if I were a millionaire, I’d carry more cash in my wallet. At the time I was comfortable having $50-70 in my wallet. $100 felt like a lot. So I went to the ATM and took out $200 and put it in my wallet. It felt uncomfortable to carry that much cash, but I got used to it after a few weeks. Over time I gradually raised my baseline until it felt normal having $300-500 in my wallet. Now when I have only $200 in my wallet, I sense a desire to go to the ATM. [...]

[...] After I read Steve Pavlina’s article 5 Wealth Lessons From 20 Percent of a Millionaire , I decided to conduct a race to a $1,000,000 liquid net worth with Steve. Steve’s site is phenomenal, and he has a big lead on me in both net worth and monthly income. Perhaps my only advantage in this race are that Steve doesn’t know he’s participating in it.
[...] If you want to start a successful business, you should decide and act as soon as possible. Then you should focus and work hard. This is the only way that works. Don’t worry about technical aspect of the work. You will learn it if you start. Just start and work and after one year you will see that you are a different person. You know much more than what you knew one year ago. Try to copy successful people and follow their foot steps. [...]

[...] Steve Pavlina has some good thoughts on motivation. 1 Peter 4:1-2 (The Message) 1-2 Since Jesus went through everything you’re going through and more, learn to think like him. Think of your sufferings as a weaning from that old sinful habit of always expecting to get your own way.
