Newsletter Update

November 28th, 2006 by Steve Pavlina          Email this article to a friend Email this article to a friend

If you signed up for this site’s free newsletter anytime within the past couple years, you’ll have recently received a confirmation email asking you to verify your subscription.  The verification link will be something that starts with www.1shoppingcart.com, since that’s the service I’m using to send out the links.  I just transferred the list there, and I’ll be sending out the first issue soon.

If you still want to receive the free newsletter, be sure to click the link in the verification email.  If you changed your mind and don’t want to subscribe, you can simply ignore the verification email, and your email address will automatically be dropped.

When I first began this site in 2004, I had no idea how quickly the blog would take off.  It grew so much faster than the newsletter sign-ups that I couldn’t justify creating extra content for a few hundred subscribers when the blog was reaching tens of thousands of people.  So I opted to put the newsletter on hold until there were enough subscribers to justify creating extra content for the newsletter.  I didn’t want the newsletter to merely be a summary of the blog’s content.  The sign-ups passed a reasonable threshold, so I’ll start sending out issues soon.

If you’ve been following this site for a while, it should come as no surprise that this newsletter will launch via the ready-fire-aim approach.  The first issue will probably be simple and light.  After several iterations of feedback and improvements, I’m sure it will shape up into something very special.  And hey, you can’t beat free…

If you’re not sure whether you’re subscribed to the newsletter or not, you can always resubscribe – it only takes a few seconds.  You won’t receive duplicate issues if you’ve already signed up.

Your email address won’t be sold to anyone, so signing up for the newsletter means you’ll only get the newsletter.  There’s no need to be squeamish.  It’s just one issue a month.

If your email account has a spam blocker, or if you have an Internet Service Provider that’s overly aggressive about blocking spam (AOL, cough cough), be sure to set your account to allow mail from stevepavlina.com.  If you don’t receive the confirmation email, you won’t be able to receive the newsletters.  If your ISP or your spam blocker prevents those emails from getting through, there’s nothing I can do to help you.

I’ll probably archive old issues of the newsletter somewhere on this site, but I haven’t settled on that for certain.  It depends on how the newsletter evolves.

Most likely I’ll send out the first issue within a week or so.  I’ll be sure to post about it here when it goes out, so you can make sure you’re receiving it OK.
