[...] What you do is apply the principle of Creative Observation. Forget about past and future, and focus entirely on the present. But give your present a velocity instead of seeing it as a fixed point. Your present is not a single frame snapshot – it’s an animation. Whenever you hold an intention, you’re aiming to alter that animation.
[...] When I was broke and in debt, I wrote down all kinds of abundance goals. I focused on my ideal financial situation. Very little changed because I couldn’t see how it was possible to get there, at least not anytime soon. So I stepped back and set much more reasonable goals, ones I could believe were possible from my current starting point. That was very effective. Big goals are great, but if you can’t see how they’re even possible, step back and define a milestone that’s a little closer to you. This will allow you to use the process of Creative Observation to begin seeing your goal as real.
[...] Steve Pavlina tried to answer this questions in his Creative Observation post: These are excellent questions. The answer is that intention-manifestation always works. When it seems like it isn’t working, the reason is that while you’re correctly putting out the intention for what you want, you’re also putting out the intention to continue manifesting what you don’t want. And you’re probably doing a lot more of the latter than the former, so if your situation changes at all, it will happen very slowly. But if you keep it up, it will still work. However, most people give up on their positive intentions long before they have a chance to manifest, and by default they go back to thinking about what they don’t want, so all progress is erased.
Is Chaos Actually a Sign Things are Going Right?

Steve Pavlina posted an interesting article prompted by a question he commonly hears: How come when I wholeheartedly intend X to happen, I still get the opposite of X? I see similarly perplexing situations among many of my own clients

[...] I’m excited. In the past I did a 30 day challenge to wake up at 5:00am on weekdays and 7:00am on weekends. This act changed my life. Once I started getting up that early, I started going to the gym in the mornings and found that excercise in the morning makes me feel a lot more positive and energized during the day. Getting up early is now a part of my life. Those who know me know this is HUGE. People would never call me before 10:00am in the past because they knew I’d be sleeping. Now imagine if I get into the habit of not complaining. What wonderful things could start to happen? I know that one benefit would be that at least my kids won’t hear my dialogue about how much I dislike the daily tasks of my life. Another of course is that I’ll be saying something positive instead of complaining. It will be an excercise in Creative Observation, which will only enable me to consciously create my reality more effectively. [...]
