[...] As much as I’d like to be one of Steve Pavlina’s polyphasic mutants, its not a sleeep structure I beleive will work with my job and family lifestyle. The basic gist of a polyhasic sleep schedule is to take many small naps throughout the day instead of a large chunk of time in the evenings. Mr. Pavlina indicates that after 90 days he sees no reason to switch back to being a hibernating “bear” in a monophasic sleep schedule. He has the advantage of setting his own work schedule (as he is self employed) and has only 1 young daughter. I don’t think it will work out for me. [...]

[...] If you’re a Polyphasic mutant, I know you’re probably thinking, “Why don’t you just move and live in your bed if you’re going to spend all that time in there??” Cut me some slack I’m in the learning period still! As my Monophasic and Polyhpasic sides are wrestling with eachother within, I have to try to find some time to read up some more so I can begin my Polyphasic experiment. Although had I been sleeping Polyphasic I would have plenty of time (4 more hours a day, 28 more hours a week, 120 more hours a month, 1,440 more hours a year.. this is soooo attractive)!
[...] He unfairly and jokingly quotes bloggers who are still in their first week of transition, disregarding that the sleep deprivation may in fact be temporary. He doesnt’ believe this of course. I believe some of the quotes are mine. Many are from Steve Pavlina’s site. In response, Steve has posted ‘Polyphasic Mutants’ where he seems to imply that he might be different and thus finds polyphasic sleep achievable. [...]

The polyphasic voyeur

If you haven't been keeping up with Polyphasic Pavlina, you may not know about polyphasic sleep. I wrote a bit about it earlier, if you want to catch up. Well, today, I saw a post from Steve about Polyphasic Mutants,

[...] A quick follow-up to The Power of Your Personal Story: Steve Pavlina last night posted on his polyphasic sleep experience. Some say it can’t be done. Surely, Steve has unique expiences and perspectives on the subject. Still, I get a kick when he talks about people who “tell me that what I’ve already done is physiologically impossible.” [...]
