Ing Direct Now at 3.75%

Today Ing Direct raised the interest rate on its Orange Savings Account from 3.5% to 3.75%. So all of you who signed up for an account with them recently will now enjoy a higher rate automatically.

My wife and I have sent out our entire quota of 47 Ing Direct referrals for those who wanted the $25 sign-up bonus, but some who requested a referral have been slow to actually sign up, so we’ve been recycling referrals from those. Every referral email we send out locks up one of the available slots, and we want to make sure every slot yields a bonus that actually gets claimed by someone, rather than going to someone who’s going to sit on it for several weeks and then forget about it entirely.

It’s likely that all of the $25 referral bonuses we’re allowed to send will soon be claimed, so when that happens, I’ll begin forwarding additional referral requests to those who’ve already signed up via one of our original referrals. Those people will then get an additional $10 bonus for each person who signs up through them, so you could very well earn more than the initial $25 bonus as people continue to request referrals from me. I’m still receiving new requests every day. I won’t forward anyone’s emails without asking permission from both parties first.

Just be sure that if you request an Ing Direct referral, you intend to use it within the next few days. Otherwise, it’s likely to be recycled and given to someone who’s ready to go.

Update:  All referrals are gone, so if you want one you’ll have to look elsewhere.
