Life After Death

October 13th, 2005 by Steve Pavlina

I added a new article to the free articles section called “Life After Death.”

Rather than being religious in nature, this article attempts to tackle death and the possibility of an afterlife from an intellectual/analytical standpoint, using what we can reasonably know about death to help us make better decisions about how to live.

Going through the thought process described in this article was a critical door I had to walk through on the path to a pervasive feeling of bliss. It was just one of many steps though. Plenty more to come. :)

One of the key results I experienced as a result of thinking through the reality and consequences of death was that it purged the fear of death from my life. We do not fear what we understand — we simply accept it for what it is.

What sense is there in talking of productivity if we fail to consider what the ultimate outcome of all our efforts will be? If we don’t understand our lives from the highest possible level, then why bother to optimize the lower levels at all?
