Forming a Nonprofit?

When I woke up this morning, what immediately popped into my head was the idea of forming a nonprofit company. This might be the third alternative I was missing when I wrote the previous post last night. My wife knows several people who run nonprofits, and it seems to work well for them. They get to focus on contribution while still drawing a salary. So I will look into this. If anyone has any resources or information or suggested reading on this, please let me know.
